World Aids Day Event at Superdrug

Event

In November, in partnership with Superdrug, we hosted a powerful World AIDS Day event alongside John Jaquiss from Terrence Higgins Trust.

The session focused on HIV education, awareness, and the importance of tackling stigma — and John’s willingness to share his personal story of living with HIV made the message even more impactful.

A key takeaway was the vital message of “Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U)”. When someone is on effective HIV treatment and achieves an undetectable viral load, they cannot pass the virus on to others. This fact continues to transform lives, relationships, and the way we talk about HIV.

We were also grateful to have AHF on-site providing free HIV testing throughout the day — a reminder of how important it is to know your status. If you haven’t tested recently, please make it a priority. HIV testing is quick, confidential, and life-saving.

World AIDS Day is also a moment to pause and remember the millions of people who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses, and to honour those who continue to fight for equality, access, and understanding.

Huge thank you to John, Terrence Higgins Trust, Superdrug, and AHF for their partnership and commitment to breaking stigma.

Let’s keep the conversation going — and let’s keep getting tested.
